Sheriff's Office

Our sheriff's office includes an 1870's replica jail of Ogallala. Built of the same stone quarried out of the hills north of town, Learn about Ogallala's most famous sheriffs that helped bring law and order to a wild town.

Tonsorial Palace

The Tonsorial Palace gives visitors a chance to see an 1870's style barber shop. This display shows the tools and items cowboys would have longed for after three months on the Texas Trail.

Undertaker

With death by gunfights often prevalent in early Ogallala an undertaker would be a must. This display shows an authentic replica of an undertaker's shop in the 1870's complete with a real 19th century hearse.

Cowboys of Ogallala

Many of our displays showcase the quirky and colorful cowboys and their experience in Ogallala. Learn about the cattle drives that opened up the future of Ogallala.  

Native Americans of Ogallala

Once home to the mighty Sioux Indians, our displays show life on the prairie for the Sioux. 

Crystal Palace Saloon

Come sit a spell and complete with a full bar as you browse through a replica of Ogallala's famed Crystal Palace Saloon. Experience a near replica of of the saloon that saw many gunfights in Ogallala's hey-day.
